What is the minimum payout on P2Pool?

P2Pool has no pool-set minimum payout balance that you must reach before receiving your Monero. You may see a minimum payment of about 0.00027 XMR quoted, but that is a rough reference for a small payout—not a fixed withdrawal threshold or a guaranteed amount.

Why there is no withdrawal threshold

A traditional mining pool usually keeps a record of what it owes you. It sends your coins only after your balance reaches a set amount, such as 0.01 XMR.

P2Pool works differently. It is a decentralized pool, meaning there is no single pool operator holding your earnings and approving withdrawals. When P2Pool finds a Monero block, the block’s reward pays eligible miners directly.

That means you do not need to:

  • Build up a balance in a pool account.
  • Click a withdrawal button.
  • Wait for a scheduled payment run.
  • Pay a separate pool withdrawal fee.

Your payment is part of the transaction that creates the block reward, rather than a later transfer from a pool operator.

What makes you eligible for a payment

Having no minimum balance does not mean every tiny amount of mining earns an immediate payment.

You first need to find a qualifying share. A share is proof that your computer completed enough mining work to meet P2Pool’s requirements. P2Pool records these shares on a separate chain of records called a sidechain.

Payments use PPLNS, short for “Pay Per Last N Shares.” In everyday terms, P2Pool looks at a recent window of qualifying work when it finds a Monero block.

If your share is still in that window, you receive your portion of the reward. If it leaves the window before the pool finds a block, that share earns nothing. One share can also receive payments from multiple blocks found while it remains eligible.

What the quoted 0.00027 XMR means

The commonly quoted approximately 0.00027 XMR describes a small payment associated with a qualifying share under certain conditions. It is not an amount you must accumulate before P2Pool releases your money.

Your actual payment depends on the block reward and your share’s weight relative to the other eligible shares. It can differ from that quoted figure.

For your own setup, the more useful questions are:

  • How often might your computer find a qualifying share?
  • How often does your chosen P2Pool sidechain find Monero blocks?
  • How much qualifying work do you have in the payment window?

Check live P2Pool statistics and a current mining calculator for estimates. Neither can promise when your next payment will arrive.

When you can spend a payout

A direct payout is not immediately spendable. Because it comes from a newly mined block, Monero locks it for 60 blocks.

With Monero’s target block time of about two minutes, that is roughly two hours. Actual waiting time varies. This is a network rule, not a payout threshold imposed by P2Pool.

The bottom line

You do not have to reach a minimum account balance on P2Pool. You need qualifying shares in the payment window when it finds a block. Treat 0.00027 XMR as an approximate small-payout reference, not a fixed minimum or a promise of earnings.
