Can I use the same wallet address for multiple workers?
Yes, you can usually use the same Monero wallet address for multiple mining workers. Each worker is a separate mining device or running copy of mining software, and using one address lets their rewards go to the same wallet.
One wallet, separate worker names
Your wallet address tells the mining pool where to send your XMR. A pool is a service that combines miners’ computing power and shares rewards according to their contributions.
A worker name serves a different purpose: it helps you tell your miners apart on the pool’s dashboard. For example, you could use one wallet address with names such as:
desktoplaptopspare-pc
You do not normally need a new wallet address for each device. Separate worker names simply make it easier to see which device is active, how fast it is mining, and whether it has stopped submitting work.
You can sometimes reuse a worker name too, but the dashboard may group those connections together. Unique names are better if you want to spot problems quickly.
Follow your pool’s connection format
Pools do not all handle worker names the same way. Your pool might ask you to enter:
- Your wallet address in a wallet or username field.
- A worker name in a separate field.
- A worker name in the connection’s password field.
- Your address and worker name together, using a specific separator.
Use the exact format in your pool’s instructions. Do not add a worker name to your address unless the pool explicitly supports that format. An incorrectly formatted login may be rejected or prevent your work from being credited correctly.
If you mine through a browser-based service, check how that service connects your browser workers to your payout address. Some services track work through an account rather than directly through a pool login.
You should never need to provide your wallet’s recovery phrase or private spending key to identify a worker or receive payouts.
How rewards and payout limits work
On many pools that identify miners by wallet address, all workers using that address contribute to one pool balance. That can help you reach the pool’s minimum payout—the amount you must earn before it sends a payment—sooner than if you split your workers across separate addresses.
However, using the same address on different pools does not merge their balances. Each pool keeps its own records, fees, payout rules, and minimum payout.
For example, if your desktop uses one pool and your laptop uses another, both pools can pay the same wallet. But each balance must independently meet that pool’s payment requirements.
Sharing an address does not give you a reward bonus. Your earnings still depend on the work your miners submit and the pool’s reward system.
Privacy and device checks
Reusing an address makes management simpler, but it lets a pool associate those workers with the same payout destination. If you reuse that address across services, those services may also be able to connect your activity.
Monero’s privacy features do not hide information you directly give a pool operator. Avoid putting your real name or other personal details in worker names, especially if worker statistics are publicly viewable.
Only run workers on devices you own or have explicit permission to use.
The bottom line
Use one wallet address for multiple workers if you want straightforward payouts, and give each worker a unique name for easier monitoring. Check your pool’s setup instructions, and remember that separate pools keep separate balances.
