What is the MoneroOcean pool fee?

MoneroOcean advertises a 0% pool fee, meaning it does not take a percentage of your mining rewards as its pool commission. That does not necessarily mean every payout is free: a withdrawal charge and your mining software’s own fee can still affect what reaches your wallet.

What the 0% fee covers

A mining pool brings together the computing power of many miners and shares the rewards they earn. Its pool fee is the percentage the operator keeps for running that service.

With MoneroOcean’s advertised 0% rate, the pool commission itself does not reduce your rewards. For example, if your allocated reward were 0.01 XMR before any separate charges, a 0% pool commission would take none of it. XMR is the currency symbol for Monero.

That example explains the fee, not how much you can expect to earn. Your actual rewards depend on your computer, mining conditions, and the work your miner completes.

Fees can change, so check MoneroOcean’s current pool information before you connect. Treat the published 0% rate as a pricing policy, not a promise that it will remain unchanged forever.

Payout charges are separate

The main distinction to watch is pool commission versus payout cost.

A payout is the transfer of your accumulated earnings from the pool to your wallet. MoneroOcean has used payout charges that vary with the payout amount, with smaller payouts carrying a larger charge relative to what you receive.

Before choosing your settings, check:

  • The payout threshold: how much XMR you must accumulate before the pool sends it.
  • The withdrawal charge: what the pool deducts when it sends that payment.
  • The amount you will receive: your payout after that deduction.

Do not assume a pool’s withdrawal charge is identical to Monero’s underlying network transaction fee. They are different figures.

A higher payout threshold can reduce the impact of payout charges, but it also means waiting longer and leaving more earnings with the pool. Choose a balance you are comfortable with.

Your miner may charge its own fee

Your miner is the software that performs the computing work. Some mining programs include a developer donation: they spend a small portion of their running time mining for the software’s developers instead of you.

That is separate from MoneroOcean’s 0% pool fee. Check the specific software and version you use rather than assuming every miner has the same donation setting.

If you access mining through a browser service, that service may also have its own charges. Connecting to a zero-fee pool does not automatically make the entire service free.

The bottom line

MoneroOcean’s advertised pool commission is 0%. To understand your actual cost, also check its current payout charge and any fee or donation built into your miner or browser service. Those separate deductions matter most when your payouts are small.
