How many XMR are mined per day across the whole network?
Across the whole Monero network, about 432 XMR are newly mined each day. That comes from a reward of 0.6 XMR per block and an average of one block every two minutes. It is a daily average, not an exact amount guaranteed for every calendar day.
How the daily total is calculated
A block is a batch of transactions added to Monero’s shared transaction record, called the blockchain. The miner who finds a valid block earns newly created XMR, plus any transaction fees included in that block.
You can work out the expected daily coin production with simple arithmetic:
- There are 1,440 minutes in a day.
- At about two minutes per block, that means 720 blocks per day.
- 720 × 0.6 XMR = 432 XMR per day.
You may also see this described as 0.3 XMR per minute. That is the same average rate, expressed over a shorter period.
Transaction fees do not add to the amount of newly created XMR. They are existing coins paid by people sending transactions. So miners’ combined rewards can include both the roughly 432 new XMR and fees, but only the first part increases the coin supply.
Why an actual day can be higher or lower
Mining is not a clock that produces a block precisely every two minutes. Finding a block involves chance, so some blocks arrive close together and others take longer.
Monero adjusts its mining difficulty, meaning how hard it is to find a valid block, after every block. This helps keep the long-term average near the two-minute target as computing power joins or leaves the network.
As a result:
- A day with more blocks can produce more than 432 new XMR.
- A day with fewer blocks can produce less.
- Over longer periods, the average should stay close to the target.
The 0.6 XMR figure is the standard reward. Monero can also reduce a block’s reward when a miner creates an unusually large block under its block-size rules. That is another reason to treat 432 XMR as the expected daily amount rather than an exact accounting total.
Why this supply continues
Monero entered tail emission around June 2022. That means it continues issuing a small ongoing block reward after its main coin issuance, which was about 18.13 million XMR.
There is no scheduled halving that periodically cuts the standard 0.6 XMR reward in half, and there is no fixed maximum coin supply. At the target pace, daily issuance works out to approximately 157,680 XMR over a 365-day year.
For your earnings, the important distinction is that 432 XMR belongs to the entire network’s production, not to each miner. Adding more miners does not permanently increase that daily supply. Instead, more computing power competes for roughly the same amount.
The bottom line
Use about 432 newly mined XMR per day as Monero’s network-wide average. If you need the actual total for a particular date, check a live blockchain explorer—a tool for viewing blocks—and add the newly issued rewards for that day, excluding transaction fees.
